Excluding The Trans Fats In Your Diet
Due to the necessity of losing unwanted fats in the body, people have managed to devise various means of effectively losing weight. Some cut all their food intake, others exercise to burn extra calories while many people also recognise the effects of just cutting down on fat intake. By learning about the fat content of food, it can help you to manage or lose weight and maintain a healthy body. Most commercially-available foods contain trans fats or bad fats. These are often added to foods to boost their flavors and to prolong their shelf life. Trans fats are unhealthy for the body because they raise low-density lipoproteins (LDL), which is also called bad cholesterol. LDL is apparently not good in the body because it can cause coronary heart disease or poor blood supply (in the heart) because of clogged coronary arteries. Among the foods high in trans fats are baked goodies such as cakes, cookies, and pastries. Snack foods, junk foods, ice creams, and foods cooked with hydrogenated oils are also rich in trans fats. |
